DOH logs 1,243 new COVID-19 cases, highest since February

On Friday, July 1, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,243 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily tally since February 26.

The active case tally rose to 8,706 from 7,871 on Thursday.

In the past two weeks, the National Capital Region had the most cases with 5,120, followed by Calabarzon (1,832), Western Visayas (898), Central Luzon (727), and Central Visayas (488).

Recoveries increased to 3,636,378 while the death toll rose to 60,565.

The bed occupancy rate was at 18.3%, with 5,339 beds occupied compared to 23,914 vacant.
