DOH: High attack rates persist despite lower reproduction number

The DOH reported on Saturday that despite a decrease in the reproduction number, the daily attack rate for COVID-19 remains high in affected areas.

OCTA Research noted the NCR's reproduction number dropped to 0.61 from October 2 to 8, which is considered low risk but still indicates a significant portion of the population is affected.

Dr. Guido David of OCTA stated that new daily cases could drop below 1,000 by the end of October and the positivity rate has decreased to 14%, with NCR currently at moderate risk for COVID-19.
