PH green-lights big events amid COVID-19

The Philippine government has given the green light for big events as long as health measures are followed amid the coronavirus outbreak.

DOH, DILG, and DOT issued a joint statement on February 18 assuring that it is safe to organize and attend public gatherings if precautionary measures are observed.

This comes after an earlier DOH recommendation to cancel large gatherings to minimize disease risk.

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat welcomed the clarification as positive for the tourism industry, particularly the MICE sector.
