DOH deploys 91 health workers to Bicol after Kristine

The Department of Health (DOH) deployed 91 health workers to the Bicol Region after Severe Tropical Storm Kristine hit the area.

A first batch of medical teams from Metro Manila, including doctors and nurses, arrived in Naga City via C-130 aircraft on Monday night, with additional teams expected from Central Luzon and Eastern Visayas.

Health emergency response teams from Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center are assisting at Naga City General Hospital, while those from East Avenue Medical Center, Valenzuela Medical Center, Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, and Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital will support the Bicol Regional General Hospital and Geriatric Medical Center.

Some Tondo Medical Center staff will also be deployed to Naga City General Hospital, with Eastern Visayas teams arriving via Ro-Ro vessel on Tuesday.

Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa emphasized that 'every life is important' and no one will be left behind, underscoring the government's commitment to assisting those affected by the storm.
