Covid-19 cases among PH health workers hit 2,125

As of Wednesday, the number of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases among healthcare workers in the Philippines reached 2,125 with 35 deaths and 669 recoveries.

The total number of active cases is 1,421, while new infections and recoveries continue to be reported daily.

Nurses account for the highest number of cases at 779, followed by doctors (642), nursing assistants (132), medical technologists (73), radiologic technologists (40), and non-medical staff (221).

The national total of confirmed Covid-19 cases has risen to 11,618 with 2,251 recoveries and a death toll of 772.

Healthcare workers continue to be disproportionately affected by the virus, accounting for nearly one-fifth of all infections in the country.
