DOH confirms drop in daily COVID cases

The Department of Health confirmed on Thursday that daily COVID-19 cases in the Philippines are decreasing.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated during a Palace briefing that while new cases in National Capital Region Plus areas and Luzon have decreased, the DOH must assess whether this decline is genuine or influenced by factors such as reduced RT-PCR testing.

Vergeire noted that lower laboratory outputs are largely due to increased use of antigen tests.
