DOH: Visayas, Mindanao see faster increase in COVID-19 cases

DOH reported on Friday that there is a faster increase in new COVID-19 cases in Visayas and Mindanao.

Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao, Caraga, and BARMM showed a two-week positive growth rate in cases.

Visayas has 9,725 active cases while Mindanao has 13,435.

Vergeire said workplace transmission is common in these regions, along with the presence of highly-infectious variants contributing to the surge.
