Bicol governors agree on tighter border control amid Delta threat

The Bicol Pandemic Task Force announced on Tuesday that governors have agreed to implement tighter border control measures to prevent the spread of the Delta variant of Covid-19.

Lawyer Anthony Nuyda, DILG regional director and chairperson of the task force, said stricter measures will be enforced at all provincial boundaries, airports, and seaports, particularly where Bicol borders Quezon province.

Dr. Ferchito Avelino, DOH assistant regional director, called for local government units to renew their resolution on tightening checkpoints against positive cases and urged barangay officials to monitor non-residents and enhance contact tracing.
