DOH: All 8 Omicron variant close contacts test negative

The seventh close contact of the first two Omicron variant cases in the Philippines has tested negative for COVID-19.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire confirmed that all eight close contacts, seven from a Nigerian national and one from a returning overseas Filipino (ROF) from Japan, have now tested negative.

Vergeire explained that only one person was seated near the ROF in business class, while six out of seven close contacts of the Nigerian individual had already completed their quarantine.
