DOH-9 alarmed at 60% vax rate among Zamboanga seniors

DOH-9 is alarmed over the 60% vaccination rate among senior citizens in Zamboanga Peninsula, considering them a vulnerable group.

Dr. Lenny Joy Johnson-Rivera, DOH-9 assistant director, noted that only 196,891 out of the target number of seniors are fully vaccinated and emphasized the need for easier access to vaccines for those who cannot leave their homes.

Overall, Zamboanga Peninsula has a 66.9% full vaccination rate among its population with 257,933 individuals receiving booster shots.

In contrast, Caraga region reports an 81.7% senior citizen vaccination rate with 334,969 seniors vaccinated and 169,344 fully vaccinated.
