DOH: 36% of Western Visayas' Covid cases recover

As of July 15, 36 percent of the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) infections in Western Visayas have recovered.

There are currently 430 active cases and 1.7 percent of cases have resulted in deaths.

DOH Region 6 infectious diseases chief Dr. Mary Jane Juanico reported that 510 or 74 percent of the 688 cases in the region are returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs).

Of these, 123 OFWs and 387 LSIs have tested positive for COVID-19.

DOH Region 6 continues to test LSIs upon arrival despite government requirements for them to test negative via a rapid test before receiving clearance to go home.
