DOH: Health workers infected with COVID-19 now 1,859

As of Wednesday, May 6, the number of health workers infected with COVID-19 rose to 1,859, with recoveries increasing to 380 and no new deaths reported.

The DOH noted that nearly one in five confirmed cases in the country are medical professionals, highlighting the significant impact on healthcare staff.

Active cases among health workers stood at 1,445 as of Wednesday, while total fatalities remained unchanged at 34 since May 4.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire reported that recoveries and new infections were showing positive trends for medical personnel battling the virus.
