PHAP: 21 doctors die from COVID-19

As of Tuesday, April 7, a total of 21 Filipino doctors have died from COVID-19 according to data from the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines (PHAP).

The deaths were primarily attributed to patients lying about their condition and travel history, as well as the lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) for health workers in private hospitals.

On Monday, April 6, Asian Hospital and Medical Center announced the death of Dr. Mary Grace Lim, a 40-year-old doctor who worked at the Department of Emergency Medicine and Quality Management Department.

The hospital expressed sorrow over losing one of their own in the fight against the pandemic and promised to continue fighting until it ends.
