DLSU advances to UAAP baseball finals with walk-off win over UST

De La Salle University secured a spot in the finals of the UAAP Season 87 baseball tournament by defeating University of Santo Tomas with a dramatic 6-5 victory on Tuesday at Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

Rookie Yuan Sumague delivered a walk-off hit in the 11th inning, propelling DLSU to their fifth consecutive championship appearance.

Sumague's deep shot to center field allowed catcher Tuting Samuel to score the winning run, with support from JR Alcontin and Miguel Agoncillo who advanced earlier in the game.

Head coach Joseph Orillana emphasized mental toughness and leadership among his players as key factors for their victory.

Sumague also made a critical three-RBI triple in the seventh inning that initially put DLSU ahead.
