Dizon suspends taxi driver's license for overcharging

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered the immediate license suspension of a taxi driver caught on video charging P1,260 for a trip from NAIA Terminal 2 to Terminal 3, and instructed the LTFRB and LTO to revoke both the driver's license and operator’s franchise.

The involved taxi unit was impounded as it was unregistered, with all 15 units under Taxi Hub Transport found to have expired provisional authorities since March, making them 'colorum'.

Dizon warned other public utility vehicle drivers and operators that operating without proper registration or overcharging would result in severe consequences, emphasizing the revocation of licenses and franchises.

The LTO and LTFRB were directed to conduct anti-overcharging operations at NAIA and other transport facilities nationwide to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Dizon encouraged the public to report such violations through social media tagging relevant agencies, ensuring swift action against offenders.
