DILG orders LGUs to establish own isolation facilities for COVID-19

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) directed all local government units (LGUs) on Wednesday to establish their own isolation centers for COVID-19 patients.

Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, DILG spokesperson, emphasized that these facilities will house patients with mild symptoms or asymptomatic cases to reduce hospital congestion.

Malaya urged LGUs to immediately set up the isolation centers using the PHP30.824-billion 'Bayanihan Grant' released by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
