DigiPlus supports tighter online gaming rules for player protection

As lawmakers push for tighter controls on online gaming, industry players like DigiPlus Interactive Corp. support updated rules that protect users while keeping the sector accountable.

DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco stated on Wednesday that regulation is crucial for player protection and maintaining jobs in the industry.

The company already implements safeguards such as Know-Your-Customer verification, age restrictions, deposit limits, cooling-off periods, and self-exclusion options, and vowed to promptly abide by any forthcoming new standards and regulations.

DigiPlus emphasized its commitment to working with regulators, legislators, and community groups to create a responsible gaming ecosystem in the Philippines while appealing for 'fact-based dialogue' among lawmakers.

The company noted that many of the measures now being debated in Congress have been adopted since November 2024 and underscored that every peso flowing through its platforms is taxed, audited, and remitted to Pagcor and the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
