Philippines files protests over Chinese vessels in South China Sea

The Philippines filed two diplomatic protests against China on Wednesday for deploying 160 fishing vessels and five Coast Guard ships in Philippine waters in the South China Sea.

These actions were seen as a violation of Philippine sovereignty, rights, and jurisdiction around areas like Scarborough Shoal, Thitu Island, and Second Thomas Shoal.

The DFA stated that these Chinese activities create instability and disregard commitments to regional peace.
