DFA repatriates 1.9K Filipinos from UAE

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has been working to bring home stranded and distressed Filipinos from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with the latest repatriation flight on July 1st bringing back 348 OFWs, including 108 pregnant women.

This brings the total number of Filipinos repatriated in June from the UAE to 1,920.

The DFA has also chartered two previous flights in June, one on June 2nd with 364 OFWs and another on June 17th with 322 OFWs.

Despite these efforts, there are still over 3,000 pending repatriation requests from Filipinos in Dubai who have cancelled work visas and risk overstaying due to the Philippines' extended flight suspensions.
