DepEd reports over 4,400 COVID-19 cases among students and staff

As of Wednesday, March 3, the Department of Education (DepEd) reported a total of 4,468 cases of COVID-19 among its students and staff.

Education Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan disclosed that 1,638 cases involve students while 2,830 are teaching and non-teaching personnel.

Quezon Province has the highest number of cases with 193, followed by Batangas (158), Bataan (128), Cebu Province (114), and Quezon City (104).

Senators have filed a resolution seeking the immediate launch of pilot testing for limited face-to-face classes in 1,605 schools identified by DepEd.
