DOE: Over 77% of students enrolled for SY 2024-2025

As of Tuesday, June 30, more than 77 percent of learners from elementary, high school, and alternative learning systems have enrolled for School Year (SY) 2024-2025.

The Department of Education reported a total enrollment of 21,563,642 out of the expected 27,722,835 students as of 9 a.m. on Tuesday, with the number increasing to 22,768,874 by July 31.

Enrollment is still ongoing and will continue until September 16, with SY 2024-2025 scheduled to end on May 16, 2025.

However, 454,082 students in the National Capital Region and Regions 1, 3, and 4A have been affected by delayed openings due to cleanup and repair activities following recent events.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara stated that delayed-opening schools may conduct Saturday classes to compensate for lost school days, emphasizing the necessity of weekend make-up sessions when weekday classes are suspended.
