DOH confirms 3 UK COVID-variant cases in Davao Region

Three individuals in the Davao Region have tested positive for the UK COVID-19 variant, according to reports.

Two of these cases are from Davao de Oro: a 33-year-old male from Compostela and a 54-year-old female from New Bataan.

The DOH Region 11 and local government units held a meeting on Sunday to coordinate their response.

Davao de Oro has intensified its contact tracing efforts in response to the cases.

Meanwhile, Central Visayas reported that out of 70 samples sent for genomic sequencing, 60 tested negative for the UK variant, while results for the remaining 10 are pending.
