Davao places Barangay 23-C under hard lockdown

Davao City placed Barangay 23-C under hard lockdown starting Saturday due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Barangay 23-C has the highest number of confirmed cases with 88 infections as of July 4, leading Mayor Sara Duterte to classify it as a high-risk area.

The lockdown will last for at least 14 days and restricts movement of residents and entry by outsiders, including frontliners.

Security forces are deployed in the area to enforce the measures while social welfare services provide food rations and psychosocial support to residents.
