DA proposes raising pork import quota to 404,210 MT

The Department of Agriculture has proposed raising the minimum access volume (MAV) for imported pork to 404,210 metric tons from the current 54,000 MT to address rising food prices and potential inflation.

This proposal is awaiting President Duterte's signature after being submitted to Malacañang by the MAV Management Council.

The increase aims to augment local supply and stabilize pork prices.
