Napocor opens gates at five Luzon dams due to Kristine

Spillway gates at five dams across Luzon, including San Roque, Ambuklao, Binga, Ipo, and Magat, have been opened as Severe Tropical Storm Kristine continues to bring heavy rainfall.

Napocor announced that Binga Dam's water level is now 574.01 meters with two spillway gates open at 1.0 meters each, discharging an estimated amount of water.

Ambuklao Dam has one gate opened at 0.5 meters releasing a certain volume of water, while San Roque Dam no longer had any gates open on Saturday as the RWL dropped below the NHWL slightly.

Ipo Dam in Bulacan had one gate open at 0.15 meters due to its RWL being near the spilling level, and Magat Dam still had one gate open at 2 meters with a reservoir water level close to its normal high water level.

The public is advised to stay updated on the situation as water levels are being managed to ensure safety amid ongoing weather conditions.

Angat and Caliraya dams, which are also managed by Napocor, have water levels at 198.41 meters (normal level: 210 meters) and 286.80 meters (normal level: 288 meters), respectively.
