Dagupan orders weeklong school break over flu symptoms

Dagupan City imposed a one-week academic break starting January 18 due to over 1,000 students and 250 school staff reporting flu-like symptoms.

Mayor Marc Brian Lim issued Executive Order No. 03 suspending both online and physical classes for elementary to senior high schools in all public and private institutions until January 25.

The order came after four more Schools Division Office personnel and teachers tested positive for COVID-19, with pending test results from others.

Lim cited the need for mental health promotion during the pandemic and allowed tertiary level schools to decide on their own academic breaks.
