CSAP asks DTI for price hike due to fuel costs

Canned Sardines Association of the Philippines (CSAP) is requesting the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to allow price increases due to rising fuel costs.

CSAP executive director Francisco Buencamino stated that another round of fuel price hikes would increase production costs by 3.5 percent, urging DTI to act immediately to cushion the impact.

Buencamino also highlighted concerns about a repeat scenario from the pandemic period where SRP adjustments were delayed, leading to significant losses for the canned sardine industry.
