Criss Cross defeats Savouge, improves to 9-0

Criss Cross maintained its undefeated record by defeating Savouge, 20-25, 25-13, 24-26, 25-19, 15-11, on Sunday night at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig to improve their standing to 9-0 in the Spikers' Turf Open Conference elimination round.

Jude Garcia led Criss Cross with a game-high 27 points and added 11 excellent receptions, while teammate Jaron Requinton contributed 22 points including five kill blocks and two aces.

The King Crunchers overcame a strong challenge from Savouge's Mark Calado, who scored 36 points but could not prevent the loss.

Despite dropping the pivotal third set where Savouge erased two set points to steal the frame, Criss Cross quickly regained control in the fourth and final sets with key defensive plays and timely blocks.

Criss Cross now stands one win away from a perfect elimination round campaign and will face Navy on Wednesday before concluding their double round elims schedule.
