DA launches 'Kadiwa on Wheels' in Mindanao cities

The Department of Agriculture (DA) launched 'Kadiwa on Wheels' in Butuan City and Cagayan de Oro City to provide affordable food supplies to residents in remote areas during the enhanced community quarantine.

In Butuan, DA-13 partnered with BFAR-13 and local farmers to bring fresh produce to barangays Pagatpatan, Agusan Pequeño, and Bading on April 16, generating PHP79,440 in sales.

Cagayan de Oro's Canitoan Farmers' Cooperative (Cafamco) also benefited from Kadiwa on Wheels, allowing farmers to sell their produce directly without middlemen.

DA-10 OIC-Director Carlene C. Collado emphasized that the initiative helps local farmers earn during quarantine and ensures food safety through pesticide residue analysis.
