CPC honors top student-athletes, coaches

The Collegiate Press Corps honored top student-athletes, coaches, and contributors at an awards ceremony on Monday, June 30, at Discovery Suites Manila.

Clint Escamis of Mapua University was named CPC Men's Basketball Player of the Year for leading his team to their first NCAA title in 33 years and announced a return for Season 101 with aspirations of winning back-to-back championships.

Kacey Dela Rosa from Ateneo de Manila University is this year's CPC Women's Basketball Player of the Year, having earned back-to-back UAAP MVP awards and expressing her desire to help Ateneo win the championship in the upcoming season.

Bella Belen was honored with the UAAP Women's Volleyball Player of the Year award, while Leo Aringo received the same honor in men’s volleyball.

Before the festivities began, a moment of silence was observed to honor the late Ashlyn Abong and Sammy Acaylar.

Other notable awardees include UP's Goldwin Monteverde as UAAP Men's Basketball Coach of the Year and NU's Dante Alinsunurin for his long-standing success in women’s volleyball coaching.

The NCAA received a Special Citation Award celebrating 100 years of excellence in producing top-tier athletes and coaches.
