Sinovac, Janssen, Clover COVID-19 vaccines under FDA review

Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine is being evaluated by the FDA despite not yet having approval from the Ethics Review Board.

The DOH noted this evaluation is preliminary and part of an internal agreement between the Task Group composed of the FDA, DOST, and DOH.

Janssen (Johnson & Johnson's vaccine) and Clover Biopharmaceuticals' vaccines are also under FDA evaluation for emergency use authorization after securing positive recommendations from the Vaccine Experts Panel and Ethics Review Board.

The VEP reviews Phase 1 and 2 clinical trials while the Ethics Board evaluates participant selection criteria.
