FDA: April 2021 best case scenario for COVID-19 vaccine

The earliest possible availability of a coronavirus vaccine in the Philippines would be by April 2021, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The FDA's director-general Eric Domingo said this is the best-case scenario if clinical trials are completed by December or January.

Department of Science and Technology Secretary Fortunato de la Peña noted that recruitment for the World Health Organization’s Solidarity Trial may start in December, with vaccine trials estimated to take three to six months.
