DoH: PH COVID cases exceed 1.06M

As of Monday May 3, 2021, the Department of Health (DoH) reported a total of over 1.06 million confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.

The number of deaths increased by 94 to reach 17,525, while recoveries rose by 9,214 to 975,234.

Active cases stood at 69,466 with critical cases accounting for 1.1%, mild cases for 94.7%, asymptomatic cases for 1.8%, severe cases for 1.4%, and moderate cases for 0.94%.

The DoH also noted that 13 duplicates were removed from the total count, with nine reclassified as recoveries; fifty-one recoveries were reclassified as deaths.

Fifteen laboratories failed to submit data on May 1, bringing the total number of Filipinos tested for COVID-19 to about 11.2 million.
