DOH expects 1K COVID-19 test kits this week

The Department of Health (DOH) expects one thousand COVID-19 test kits donated by the World Health Organization to arrive during the week.

Health officials are procuring additional testing kits and have requested an extra P139 million for 40,000 more kits.

Limited supplies of testing kits have led to a cautious approach in conducting tests, focusing on those with symptoms or travel history.

DOH plans to expand testing coverage once they receive more supplies; currently, the DOH has 2,000 test kits and is set to receive an additional 4,500 from WHO.
