Central Visayas reports 190 confirmed COVID-19 cases

As of Monday, April 20, Central Visayas has recorded 190 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with four new positive cases reported by the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Sub-National Laboratory.

The number of cases has nearly doubled since April 15 due to close monitoring in Sitio Zapatera, Barangay Luz, Cebu City.

Dr. Jaime Bernadas from DOH-7 stated that one additional death was recorded, bringing the total deaths in the region to nine and increasing the case fatality rate to 4.7 percent.

A patient who tested positive for coronavirus and had traveled to Cebu died on Wednesday, April 15, in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental.
