Duterte places PH under state of calamity; Mindanao, Visayas implement lockdowns

President Rodrigo Duterte placed the entire country under a state of calamity on Tuesday night, Mar 17.

In response to the Luzon-wide lockdown declared by Duterte on Mar 16, local governments in Mindanao and Visayas implemented their own lockdown measures or declared states of calamity.

Mindanao's lockdown includes Cagayan de Oro starting Mar 20, Cotabato from Mar 17, Davao City since Mar 15, Iligan City from Mar 16, Lanao del Sur until Apr 14, South Cotabato, Southern Leyte until Mar 31, Valencia City in Bukidnon until Mar 29, Zamboanga City starting Mar 20, and General Santos City.

In the Visayas, lockdown measures include Antique from Mar 17 to Mar 31, Bacolod City indefinitely since Mar 15, Bohol for a dry run from Mar 16 to Mar 20, Biliran until Mar 31 with limited border closure, Capiz indefinitely since Mar 15, Cebu City until Apr 14, Iloilo until Apr 14, Leyte until Apr 17, Negros Occidental until Apr 14, and Tacloban City from Mar 21 to Apr 12.
