DILG: PH contact tracing at 96%, NCR at 76%

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reported that the country's contact tracing capability for COVID-19 patients or carriers has improved to 96 percent.

However, in Metro Manila, this ability stands at 76 percent, which is 20 percentage points lower than the national average.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año attributed the lower rate in Metro Manila to strict adherence to data privacy laws.

Despite the improvement, Año emphasized that quarantine protocols must remain in place to prevent further spread of the virus.
