Comelec urges Siquijor candidates to file COCs early

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Siquijor province is urging candidates to file their certificates of candidacy (COCs) early for the May 2022 elections due to the ongoing COVID-19 surge.

Provincial election supervisor Jerome Brillantes noted that no COCs have been filed yet, and suggested filing early to avoid potential lockdown restrictions that could delay the process.

Comelec-Siquijor held a simulation exercise on September 30 involving local authorities and volunteers to prepare for the COC filing period from October 1-8.
