Classes suspended in Caloocan, Pasay, Valenzuela due to heat

Face-to-face classes in several areas have been suspended on Thursday, May 23, 2024, due to extreme heat conditions.

Schools in these regions have been advised to switch to asynchronous or alternative learning methods.

In unspecified areas, the decision to suspend face-to-face classes rests with school authorities.

Caloocan City and Pasay City are among the affected areas, suspending public and private schools for various levels through May 24.

Valenzuela City automatically cancels in-person classes when the heat index reaches 42°C or higher, affecting all levels of education until further notice.

Other cities like Malabon, Cabanatuan (due to a power interruption), Binmaley, Iloilo, and Umingan have also suspended afternoon or full-day classes for different school levels through early June.
