CIDG arrests 47 profiteers, hoarders of medical supplies

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has arrested 17 suspects for profiteering, hoarding, and overpricing medical supplies in various operations across the country.

In Cavite, authorities seized PHP1.3 million worth of N88 disposable face masks from a Malaysian national and five others following an entrapment operation based on information from a concerned citizen.

CIDG also reported seizing over PHP4.2 million worth of alcohol, hand sanitizers, and face masks during 13 operations in the last two days, arresting 30 individuals including suspected gang members.

Operations included the seizure of 19 boxes of face masks valued at P620,000 in Tondo, Manila, where suspects were selling masks for PHP2,500 per box.

In Iligan City, a businessman was arrested for selling overpriced alcohol and face masks.
