BOC raids Binondo store selling overpriced PPE, alcohol

On Thursday morning, March 26, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) raided a Binondo store selling overpriced alcohol and personal protective equipment (PPE).

The raid, conducted by BOC's Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service with police and Philippine Coast Guard assistance, seized P5 million worth of goods.

Items confiscated included face masks, gloves, goggles, alcohol, thermal scanners, test tubes, and syringes.

BOC stated that the store sold items online at nearly four times the suggested retail price during the coronavirus outbreak.

The store owners were not present during the raid; building administrator and personnel assisted authorities.
