China sending medical team to PH at govt request

China is sending a team of medical experts to the Philippines at the request of the Philippine government to help combat the rising number of coronavirus cases.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian discussed the details of this cooperation over the phone on Monday, though no specific numbers or dates for the arrival of the medical team have been released yet.

Philippine Ambassador to China Jose Santiago Sta Romana confirmed during a government briefing that talks are underway to deploy the medical team to the Philippines shortly, with continuous deployment of medical supplies from China in the meantime.
