First drag queen participates in Miss Universe Philippines

Marina Summers made history by becoming the first drag queen to participate in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant on May 22nd, performing 'AMAFILIPINA' and dedicating her act to LGBTQ+ individuals who aspire to represent their country. She was joined by Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michele Dee during parts of the performance.

Chelsea Manalo from Bulacan was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024 at the SM Mall of Asia on May 22nd, following a pageant that lasted into early hours of May 23rd. Marina Summers also performed 'AMAFILIPINA' earlier this year on 'It's Showtime,' marking her debut on a major Filipino television show.

Summers is currently on a world tour and gained international recognition after representing Asia in the second season of 'Drag Race: UK vs. The World.'
