Central Luzon starts evacuations for Typhoon Ulysses

Local government units in Central Luzon started pre-emptive evacuations of residents from flood-prone areas on Wednesday as Typhoon Ulysses approaches.

Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda said five permanent evacuation centers have been prepared, and local disaster risk reduction councils are working with officials to ensure safety.

In Nueva Ecija, Governor Aurelio Umali ordered the pre-emptive evacuation of residents in low-lying areas as a precaution against potential flooding.

Aurora Governor Gerardo Noveras urged constituents to be prepared and coordinate with their local disaster risk reduction offices.
