Celeb candidates see mixed results in midterms

The 2025 midterm elections saw mixed results for celebrity candidates, with some securing victories while others faced defeats.

Erwin Tulfo secured the fourth spot in the Senate race with over 16 million votes, surpassing his brother Raffy's performance in 2022.

Tito Sotto and Lito Lapid also won seats in the Senate, placing eighth and eleventh respectively.

In the House of Representatives, Arjo Atayde and Lani Mercado-Revilla were declared winners in their respective districts.

Former PBA player Dodot Jaworski and actor Vico Sotto secured positions as vice mayor and mayor of Pasig City, while veteran actress Sol Aragones was proclaimed governor of Laguna.

According to GMA Integrated News Research, out of 130 celebrity candidates, only 56 won or are winning their respective races, compared to a higher success rate in the 2022 elections.
