Cebu Pacific reports 33% passenger growth in Jan 2025

Cebu Pacific reported a significant increase in passenger numbers for January 2025, driven by high demand during the holiday season.

The budget airline carried 2.6 million passengers, marking a 33.4% year-over-year growth with seat capacity soaring by 31.2%, attributed to additional frequencies and new routes launched last year.

Domestic passenger traffic grew by 34.6%, while international traffic increased by 29.9%; the airline's domestic network expanded to 84 routes from 68, and its international network grew to 40 routes from 36.

President and Chief Commercial Officer Alexander Lao attributed the strong traffic growth to holiday travel and strategic expansion of its network and capacity.

Lao noted that while load factors remained healthy at 86.5%, CEB will continue to optimize capacity to meet consumer demand and manage supply chain issues.
