Cebu City COVID-19 cases climb to 161; Barangay Luz under total lockdown

Cebu City's confirmed COVID-19 cases climbed to 161 on Friday after 84 new cases were reported.

Of these, 82 cases are from Barangay Luz and two from Barangay Labangon.

Mayor Edgardo Labella ordered a total lockdown of Barangay Luz due to the surge in cases.

Mass testing is being conducted in Barangay Luz with around 34,000 swab kits secured by the city government for targeted testing.

The mayor expects an increase in case numbers as mass testing intensifies and contact tracing procedures are enforced.
