Cebu City placed under strict lockdown

Cebu City was placed under strict lockdown on Tuesday night to curb the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu Jr., tasked by President Duterte, led a military and police operation with over 90 checkpoints set up across the city.

Movement into and out of Cebu City is tightly monitored; only authorized persons outside residence (APORs) and essential workers are allowed on the streets.

Police from other regions were deployed to assist local forces in enforcing the lockdown, including a 'one entrance, one exit' policy via the Cebu South Coastal Road.
