CEAP calls for revival of EDSA spirit ahead of May elections

The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) called for the revival of the 'Edsa spirit' ahead of the upcoming May elections.

CEAP emphasized that this revolutionary period highlighted the Filipino people's capacity for peace and sacrifice, urging member schools to recommit to the EDSA spirit in various forms.

Amidst the 39th anniversary of the People Power Revolution, several Catholic schools are considering suspending classes despite a government declaration making February 25 a special working holiday.

CEAP urged its member schools to commemorate the event through activities such as eucharistic celebrations and alternative classes, while encouraging courageous, creative, and community-centered observations.

The association stressed that the Edsa People Power revolution remains an essential part of Philippine and Catholic education, rejecting any attempts to diminish its significance.
