Cavite solon calls for probe into gov't response to Taal eruption

Cavite Representative Elpidio Barzaga Jr. is calling for a congressional inquiry into the government's response to the Taal Volcano eruption.

Barzaga filed House Resolution No. 643, which directs committees to investigate the lack of public information and warnings from Phivolcs and other agencies before the eruption.

He noted that there were no news bulletins or SMS alerts issued when Taal showed signs of increased activity on January 12, leading people to travel towards the volcano despite the danger.
